We are all familiar with this phrase and it remains true even when we get older.
It reminds me of a comment made during a training session where we discussed ‘Being too helpful isn’t helping’: “So, do we then not teach our children that it is good manners to help older people?” Off course good manners and assisting Elders are good. However, if we do it all the time we are keeping them from doing things for themselves which may result in reduced physical strength as well as psychological confidence.
