Food Services and Dietetics

GERATEC uses culinary innovation to provide healthy, nutritionally-balanced meals through varying menus that are at once delicious and make use of local and seasonal produce.

Unlike others in the market, GERATEC will never resort to a “safe alternative” or a meal that is merely compatible with most dietary requirements and limits variety while leaving everyone dissatisfied.

We respect that each home has its own culture, tastes, likes, and dislikes. Therefore, we propose a unique five-week cycle menu, approved by our dietician, the food committee/residents committee, and the client.

GERATEC passionately believes in the importance of optimal nutrition. Our qualified dietitians ensure that each client and each resident’s special/therapeutic dietary needs are properly implemented and maintained. This service is available to all our residents and clients, whether they live independently or in a Health Care Centre (or a similar facility).

When modifications are needed, or a new diet is required, GERATEC’s dietitians develop and implement employee training with a focus on aspects of underlying medical conditions, and where they can provide practical advice and guidance on related to products, ingredients, and suitable alternatives. They further help refine food preparation techniques, cooking methods, general production issues, food presentation, and service quality.

Our dietitians and area manager monitor food production processes, as well as client satisfaction and wellbeing, on an ongoing basis, allowing every person to achieve and maintain their optimal nutritional status by taking their unique circumstances into account.

We have found that GERATEC employees excel when given the opportunity to host functions. Both special and fun days are celebrated in collaboration with our clients. These special days include St Patrick’s Day, Human Rights Day, Valentine’s Day, and Mother’s Day (to name but a few). Every now and then, fun days, such as International Spaghetti Day, Milk Tart Day, and Jellybean Day, are also commemorated.

Housekeeping and Laundry Services

GERATEC strives to establish a culture of “this is my home” within every support and care community where we operate. Our goal is to create a healthy, hygienic, and pleasant environment for all of those who live and work there.

Every employee plays an important role in achieving this goal. To this end, we encourage every GERATEC housekeeping and laundry employee to maintain an ethos of transparency, friendliness, professionalism, and helpfulness. After all, the best part of teamwork is that you always have someone who has your back.

A spotlessly clean and bright house is an essential part of creating a homely atmosphere. Supported by senior GERATEC employees, our household and laundry employees receive ongoing training and guidance towards becoming an integral part of the support and care we provide to residents. Our housekeeping team members contribute to our residents’ quality of life by delivering housekeeping and laundry services of the highest standard and establishing authentic relationships with the residents they serve. Our employees are always helpful and are proud of their work.

Support and Care

Our unique understanding of the physical and emotional needs of older people let GERASERVE provide holistically driven relationship directed support to those who rely on our assistance.
